ความสำคัญของจุดมุ่งหมายในการทำงาน

จุดมุ่งหมายในการทำงานมีความสำคัญเป็นอย่างมาก เนื่องจากว่าในการเขียนเรซูเม่ และการสัมภาษณ์งาน โดยเฉพาะสำหรับนักศึกษาจบใหม่ รวมไปถึงนักศึกษาฝึกงาน เนื่องจากว่าพนักงานบุคคลมองว่า นักศึกษากลุ่มนี้มีการเปลี่ยนงานบ่อย มีการเปลี่ยนใจ หรือเปลี่ยนแนวทางในการทำงานที่เร็ว ส่วนใหญ่จะไม่ถึง 1-2 ปี และจะส่งผลให้พนักงานบุคคลจะต้องหาพนักงานใหม่มาแทนหลังจากนักศึกษาจบใหม่กลุ่มนี้ย้ายงานกันเร็ว จุดมุ่งหมายในการทำงานจึงเป็นสิ่งหนึ่งที่สามารถแยกให้เห็นตั้งแต่ในขั้นตอนสมัครงานเลยว่า ผู้สมัครงานคนนี้ดีพอหรือไม่

จุดมุ่งหมายในการทำงานที่ดีประกอบไปด้วย

1.การมีเป้าหมายที่ชัดเจน ไม่โลเล

การวางแผนทุกอย่างจะต้องเริ่มจากการที่เราตั้งเป้าหมายอย่างชัดเจน การทำงานก็เช่นกัน ที่เราจะต้องสร้างเป้าหมายที่ชัดเจนว่า ตกลงเราอยากเป็นอะไรในการทำงาน ตัวอย่างของเป้าหมายที่ดีคือเป้าหมายที่ทำให้ตัวเราภูมิใจกับมัน และ win-win ทั้งตัวเองและบริษัท เช่น

• การเป็นพนักงานแนวหน้าของบริษัท
• การต้องการเป็นที่รู้จักในวงการ
• การสร้างสินค้าใหม่ หรือกลุ่มตลาดใหม่ให้กับบริษัท

ในทางตรงกันข้าม เราไม่ควรจะตั้งเป้าหมายที่โลเลเช่น อยากลองทำดู หรือ อยากเปลี่ยนงาน แต่ยังไม่รู้จะทำอะไร พวกนี้ถือว่าเป็นตัวอย่างเป้าหมายที่แย่ ถ้าตรวจพบว่าตัวเองใส่เป้าหมายที่มีความโลเลลงในเรซูเม่ก็ให้รีบลบทิ้งเสียก่อนที่จะส่งครั้งถัดไป

อีกเป้าหมายที่มีนักศึกษาใส่มาบ่อย แต่สร้างความลำบากให้กับพวกเขาจากความผิดพลาดนี้ คือเป้าหมายประเภทที่ไม่สนใจคนอื่น หรือต้องการจะกดคนอื่นลงมา เช่น ผมอยากเป็นเจ้าของบริษัทนี้ หรือดิฉันอยากจะทำงานของคุณ (ผู้สัมภาษณ์งาน) เป็นต้น

2.มีการแสดงแรงบันดาลใจอย่างเห็นได้ชัด

จุดมุ่งหมายในการทำงานที่ดีจะต้องสะท้อนถึงตัวคุณ ว่าลึกๆแล้วคุณให้ความสำคัญกับอะไรมากที่สุด ตัวอย่างเช่นศิลปินวาดรูปผู้โด่งดังมักจะมีแรงบันดาลใจในการสร้างผลงานขั้นสุดยอดที่ได้รับการยอมรับจากศิลปินท่านอื่นๆและผู้เสพย์ศิลปะจำนวนมาก จนได้รับรางวัลในระดับประเทศ และไม่ใช่แค่สร้างผลงานออกมาเพียงชิ้นเดียว แต่มีความกระหายที่จะสร้างผลงานใหม่ๆอยู่ตลอดเวลาเลยทีเดียว นี่ถือว่าเป็นหนึ่งในตัวอย่างของแรงบันดาลใจที่ดีอีกตัวอย่างหนึ่ง

3.มีการพัฒนา กระหาย กระตือรือร้นอยู่เสมอ

จุดมุ่งหมายที่ดีจะต้องไม่หยุดนิ่ง และมีการพัฒนาการอยู่เสมอๆ เคยมีผู้สมัครงานเป็นนักศึกษาจบใหม่คนหนึ่งใส่จุดมุ่งหมายในการทำงานลงมาว่า "ต้องการจะเป็นผู้จัดการ" และเขาสามารถทำได้จริงเมื่อเวลาผ่านไป 3 ปี ซึ่งถือว่าเร็วมากสำหรับนักศึกษาจบใหม่ที่เป็นผู้จัดการได้ตั้งแต่อายุประมาณ 24-25 ปี แต่กลับกลายเป็นว่าพอเขาได้เป็นผู้จัดการแล้ว ไฟในตัวมันก็มอดลง ไร้ซึ่งเป้าหมาย หลังจากผ่านไปอีก 10 ปีเข้าก็ยังเป็นเพียงผู้จัดการอยู่ ในขณะที่เพื่อนๆร่วมรุ่นของเขาได้เลื่อนขั้นไปเป็นผู้ช่วยรองกรรมการผู้จัดการกันหมดแล้ว

4.มีการกำหนดเป้าหมายระยะ สั้น-กลาง-ยาว

การตั้งจุดมุ่งหมายก็เหมือนกับการเดินทางไปสู่ความสำเร็จ เมื่อเราทราบว่าจุดนี้เรายืนอยู่ตรงไหน และเราจะเดินทางไปที่ไหนแล้ว เราก็สามารถลงลึกไปในส่วนของรายละเอียดได้ว่าในการเดินทางเราจะผ่านจุดเซฟจุดไหนบ้าง ซึ่งเป็นหลักของการวางแผนการเดินทางที่ดีนั่นเอง

เป้าหมายระยะสั้น (2-3 เดือน) ให้เราลองตั้งเป้าหมายง่ายๆว่าเราจะทำงานอะไรเสร็จบ้าง จะคิดสิ่งใดใหม่ๆออกมาบ้าง หรือเราจะเรียนรู้อะไรใหม่ๆเพื่อให้การทำงานมีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้นได้บ้าง

เป้าหมายระยะกลาง (2-3 ปี) ให้เราลองตั้งเป้าหมายง่ายๆที่โฟกัสไปที่การเลื่อนขั้น เลื่อนตำแหน่ง หรือถ้าบริษัทเลื่อนขั้นยากก็โฟกัสไปแค่ที่การเลเวลอัพของตัวเราเองก็ได้ ว่าภายใน 2-3 ปี เราจะเติบโตไปถึงจุดไหน

เป้าหมายระยะไกล (5-10 ปี) เป้าหมายระยะยาวนี้จะกินเวลาหลายปี บางครั้งก็อาจจะเป็นสิบปีหรือมากกว่า เป้าหมายระยะไกลนี้จะต้องมาในเส้นทางเดียวกันกับเป้าหมายระยะสั้นและกลาง เป้าหมายระยะยาวควรจะเป็นเรื่องที่ยิ่งใหญ่หน่อย เช่นว่าคุณต้องการเข้าไปอยู่ในระดับบริหารของบริษัทให้ได้ หรือคุณต้องการที่จะเป็นเซลที่สร้างยอดขายได้อันดับ 1 ของบริษัทนั่นเอง

5.เป็นจุดมุ่งหมายในทางบวก

จุดมุ่งหมายที่ดีจำเป็นจะต้องเป็นจุดมุ่งหมายในทางบวก เสมือนเราเลเวลอัพในเกมไปเรื่อยๆ ไม่มีใครอยากจะเลเวลดาว์น หรือเก่งน้อยลงหรอก จริงไหมครับ? ตัวอย่างจุดมุ่งหมายในทางบวกของแต่ละคนก็แตกต่างกันไปในแต่ละสายงาน แต่ส่วนมากแล้วมักจะไปในทางเดียวกันเช่น ต้องการเติบโตในสายงาน ต้องการมีผลงานเป็นอันดับต้นๆในบริษัท เป็นต้น
