Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand you are not able to scan from the PC. I'd be happy to assist you.
Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue. If the printer is able to make a copy, proceed to the next step. Reset the printer
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip. Restart the PC. On the PC, type "services" in the search box and hit enter. Check that the following services ( check them in the order shown below ) are all showing as Status= Started and Start-up Type= Automatic Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Shell Hardware Detection Windows Image Acquisition If you need to make a change to any of the above, just right-click the service and select Properties, then in the dropdown box next to 'Start-up Type', select Automatic and click Apply to save the change. Then click the Start button. Try scanning. If the issue persists, proceed to the next step. Use the HP Smart app to scan from your Win PC and check if that helps. Click here to download and know more about the app. Hope this helps! Keep me posted. Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Considering that this printer only supports USB connectivity. I need you to check the following items below, and then also use the utilty provided to assist with isolating the issue. 1. Make sure you are using a USB 2.0 port and not a USB 3.0 2. Make sure you have the USB cable directly connected from printer to computer without any type of USB hub between the two devices Since this works on the Win 7 computer are you using the same USB cable on both systems? If not, you will need to try a new USB cable to see if you experience the same issue. Utility: HP designed a quick and easy tool that diagnoses and resolves many printing, scanning, and connectivity problems: The HP Print and Scan Doctor. HP recommends that you download and install the Print and Scan Doctor any time you need to troubleshoot a problem with your HP printer from the link below. |
