Our partners at Fleet Feet Pittsburgh are thrilled to host packet pickup for this year’s FlyBy 5K & 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk! To avoid waiting in line on race morning, we highly recommend you take advantage of the early packet pickup opportunities! Each of their Pittsburgh locations will host packet pickup for one day, so make sure you go to the right store!

  • Thursday, September 14: 11 AM - 7 PM at Fleet Feet Bakery Square
  • Friday, September 15: 11 AM - 7 PM at Fleet Feet South Hills

Please note: you will not receive a bib number ahead of time - bibs will be picked up by last name!

Directions, Parking , and Shuttles:

Directions:

  • If you are arriving from the northwest (Beaver), travel on I-376E and take Exit 50 toward Flaugherty Run Road
  • If you are arriving from the east (Pittsburgh), travel on I-376W and take Exit 57 toward Moon

Parking and Shuttles:

  • FREE parking is available for race participants at the following locations:
    • 100 Airside Drive, Moon Township, PA 15108
    • Park & Ride at University Blvd. (behind Sheetz)
  • Shuttles will run from the Park & Ride lot to the start line activity area (and back) from 8 AM until noon.
  • The last pre-race shuttle will leave the Park & Ride lot at 9:30 AM.

Schedule of Activities on Saturday, Sept. 16:

  • 8 AM - Noon - Free parking lots open and shuttle service available
  • 8-9:45 AM - Race day packet pickup open - you must pick up your packet by 9:45 AM to be able to participate in the race!
  • 8-11:30 AM - Urban Trail Coffee Co. on site (not included in registration)
  • 8:30-11:30 AM - Yard games and prizes with Kids of STEEL (Kids, don’t forget to stop by the Kids of STEEL tent after your race to get your FREE wing pin!)
  • 8:30-11:30 AM - 4RUN2 open
  • 8:30-11:30 AM - Touch-a-Truck with airport equipment
  • 9-11:30 AM - Face painter on site
  • 9-11:30 AM - Kona Ice on site (not included in registration)
  • 9-11:30 AM - Buzz Lightyear on site for photos!
  • 10 AM - 5K begins
  • 10:05 AM - 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk begins

Rules:

  • 5K:
    • There is a 90-minute time limit to the 5K event (29 minutes/mile)
    • This is a stroller-friendly course! Please note that, due to FAA regulations, everyone on the course (including those in strollers) must be officially registered and wear their assigned bib. Participants aged 4 and younger on race day can register for FREE. If your child is not yet registered, please be sure to sign them up before the event.
    • No animals are permitted on the course unless they are a registered service animal.
  • 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk:
    • This event is not timed; participants will not receive an official finisher time for this event
    • You will have 45 minutes to complete the walk (22:30/mile)
    • This is a stroller-friendly course! Please note that, due to FAA regulations, everyone on the course (including those in strollers) must be officially registered and wear their assigned bib. Participants aged 4 and younger on race day can register for FREE. If your child is not yet registered, please be sure to sign them up before the event.
    • No animals are permitted on the course unless they are a registered service animal.

Safety:

Safety is our top priority. To help ensure a safe race experience, P3R encourages all participants, volunteers, and spectators to be aware of your surroundings. Please adhere to the following guidelines on race day:

  • Participants agree to follow the instructions of race, medical, and police officials.
  • If you see a suspicious person, object, or vehicle, please report the sighting to emergency services by calling 9-1-1 or notify nearby law enforcement personnel.
  • Do not store, hide, or leave any personal items, backpacks, packages, or clothes in the activity and/or start line areas.
  • No backpacks, duffel bags, bags (paper, plastic, etc.), hard or soft coolers, or purses larger than 8.5"x11" will be allowed inside the start line or finish line runner-only areas.
    • Camelbacks and/or fuel belts are permitted but will be subject to inspection.
    • Military runners carrying Rucksacks must contact the P3R office to register the bag's contents prior to race day. All bags are subject to inspection.
  • There is NO GEAR CHECK at this event. Runners and walkers will NOT be permitted to bring or carry bags into the start line area or on the course.
  • Only registered runners and walkers with official race/bib numbers will be permitted on the course. You must clearly display your race bib to gain entry.
  • Strollers are permitted on this course! Please note that, due to FAA regulations, everyone on the course (including those in strollers) must be officially registered and wear their assigned bib. Participants aged 4 and younger on race day can register for FREE. If your child is not yet registered, please be sure to sign them up before the event.
  • Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, roller skates, and rollerblades are not permitted on the course.
  • Headphones are strongly discouraged.

  • The start/finish area is located at 100 Airside Drive Moon Township PA 15108.

Where do I park?

  • FREE parking is available at the Park N Ride located behind Sheetz on University Blvd. Shuttles will be available to take you to the start line area!

Awards

In each of the overall Male, Female, and Open Divisions, awards will be given to:

  • First Place
  • Second Place
  • Third Place

*Open Division competitors will not be eligible for age group awards in the Male and Female Divisions.

In the male or female divisions, awards will be distributed to the top three finishers (based on chip time) in the following age categories:

  • 10-14
  • 15-19
  • 20-24
  • 25-29
  • 30-34
  • 35-39
  • 40-44
  • 45-49
  • 50-54
  • 55-59
  • 60-64
  • 65-69
  • 70-74
  • 75-79
  • 80+

*Awards will be shipped to each winner in the mail approximately three weeks after the event. Participants have 1 week from race day to notify P3R of any result discrepancies.
