the way it locks the base to the osmo is fantastic , very positive attach and detach. perfect size , not too small , not too big , not too heavy , not too light. It holds the osmo perfectly on a flat surface. I'm very satisfied with this product!

If you check out recommendation on youtube, you will hear a lot of them say, "It seems loose when you put the Osmo in the recommended way, but feels tighter when its reversed..." Not the case with this unit. It fit right in, and locked securely. It has good weight to it too, so it counters the weight of my phone in my Osmo Mobile and handles the weight of the Camera and phone in my Original Osmo. Even though it just arrived, I had put it through the 'Mill'. It connected perfectly to my Crane, as it offers the 1/4" mount at its base. The mount looks like its made of ABS plastic (but don't quote me), so I am not too sure how long it will last with mounting it to the different tripods, jibs and cranes I use. FYI, I may actually leave it on at all times. It's almost more comfortable with it on, even while moving around, than using the x5 without it.

It does exactly what it's suppose to do. It should last a long time if taken care of. Shipping is painfully slow. Ordered it June 3rd and it's still on the way June 10th. I'm suppose to get it by the 17th. I thought it was prime but it wasn't. My mistake.

This OEM DJI base works great with my original (version 1) Osmo Mobile. I also like that I don't have to remove the wrist lanyard before using the base. This will also be great for those times when I don't want to set up my tripod.

I own the first Osmo from DJI, and I love it—but why it didn’t come with a built in tripod mount baffled me. This fixes that problem. And even if you don’t need it mounted on a tripod, it’s nice to have the ability to simply set the osmo down in its base, rather than having to find a soft spot and gently lay it down.
(One thing I discovered: if you’re buying this add on with the hopes of getting lock down shots from your Osmo, don’t bother. Even when mounted to a tripod and its gimbal locked, It drifts. A lot.)

The Osmo is extremely inconvenient to use without a base like this one. That being said, this base is extremely flimsy and barely holds a fully-loaded X5. The push button lock that holds the base of the Osmo in also feels rather under-engineered, like it could snap and send your Osmo tumbling at any moment. I haven't hade any of these fail on me yet, but they're definitely not of comparable quality to well-engineered filmmaking and photo gear. I'd love to see DJI release a pro version of this product, it would make using the Osmo on set that much easier.

Seems like legit official product. Solid base for the Osmo. I've used my buddy's base a few times and it seems identical. I say its a must have for the Osmo Mobile version 1 (the new v2 has the tripod hole in the bottom by default). Shipped free and fast and priced reasonable. Everything good, Nothing wrong = 5 stars. Nuff Said :)
